As the sediment deposition in Dajhu Lake of Sun Moon Lake in Nantou County is serious, Taipower Daguan Power Station conducted the first low-concentration power generation and desilting test to achieve the effective clearance of the huge amount of deposited sediment. According to the plan, a 4-kilometer desilting pipe will be laid at the bottom of the lake to exhaust the sediment by mixing water to Choshui River. In March this year, SinoTech Engineering Consultants, Ltd. carried out the initial monitoring as entrusted, by which 4 kinds of water concentrations and 8 launching times were tested. After more than a month of experimentation, the first hydroelectric desilting reservoir was formed.
